The Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) was established in 1971, with it evolving campus it spans 220-plus acres and includes Centennial Olympic Park and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Home to the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United GWCAA has become the main attraction. A key driver for Georgia’s economy, the GWCCA is a catalyst for development, tourism, commercial and residential growth, and creating job opportunities. GWCCA’s became LEED Silver certified in 2014 and LEED Gold certified in 2017 after establishing their energy-saving performance contract.

GWCCA's Action Plan for a Sustainable Future

GWCCA vision is to benefit the quality of life for Georgians by driving business and events throughout the state. GWCCA has a LEED Gold objective to build a 975-room hotel connected to the center bringing more jobs to the city of Atlanta. GWCCA believes creating a better environment, community and leaders is the key to a sustainable future.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
Minimizing the environmental impacts of operations and events hosted on campus is GWCCA’s primary focus.

GWCCA believes in setting the tone for the industry they operate in. By becoming the largest LEED certified convention center in the world, GWCAA is becoming a blueprint for creating a sustainable community. GWCCA focuses on the environment and social responsibility by mentoring the youth, providing outreach to the community through food and clothing drives, composting, recycling and donating resources, and partnering with local organizations to fight human trafficking. GWCAA has implemented monthly volunteer opportunities into their program to ensures the company and their staff uphold the responsibility of creating a sustainable future.
