YKK Corporation of America is the regional headquarters for the North and Central America region. Located in Marietta, Georgia, this company provides professional services to eleven dynamic operating companies that are spread across five time zones covering Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Central America and Colombia, South America. These services include corporate development, corporate MIS, corporate communications, general affairs, benefits and compensation, finance and accounting, risk management, legal, and corporate purchasing. YKK first entered the United States as a zipper distributor in 1960, set up a sales office in Atlanta in 1970, and in 1972 purchased 54 acres in Macon, GA, and was one of the first Japanese companies to set up operations in Georgia.

YKK tries to ensure that the materials used are still in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. YKK has a global standard when manufacturing and has been a consistent example to other companies on incorporating the SDG throughout the supply chain.
